Fiancé went to the ER and now has a $10,000 bill. She doesn’t have insurance.

When registration came around and took her information, she was told since she makes around $800 a month (only working 2 days a week) that she would qualify for assistance. We live together, and the person didn’t ask for my income information. Now, she just got the bill and it’s $10,000+. The financial people are now telling her that we in fact do need to add my income, which will definitely cause her to not qualify for assistance. We aren’t sure what to do. The statement says that she can make $2,000 monthly payments if she can’t afford to pay $10,000. Neither of us can afford even a $2,000 monthly payment. I’m not sure what she should do. If someone else has gone through a similar situation, how did you handle it?
