I was given three choices at my new job. What are the pros/cons? Which would you choose if you were in my shoes? We would be relocating to a new city (NYC), and my wife and I are planning to have a baby in a couple of years.
1) Oxford Freedom Direct HDHP, which is a high-deductible health plan (HDHP). The employer pays the entire premium for this plan. The employer will also fund the employees’ Health Savings Account (HSA) in the amount of $2,000 for individuals and $4,000 for families. 2) Oxford-Liberty EPO 8B is a PPO that will cover only in-network usage. The employer will pay the entire premium for this plan. 3) Oxford Freedom Direct PPO 2B, a PPO covering both in-network and out-of-network usage. This plan will require employee contributions toward the monthly premium.
