(California)
I tried to schedule an appointment with a PT office. It is near impossible to find a PT that takes Medi-Cal that isn’t booked out.
I heard this Physical Therapist takes cash payments. I tried to schedule a first time appointment, and asked to do cash pay, but when I mentioned Medi Cal was my current insurance, they immediately said that they cannot take cash pay people who are on Medi-Cal?
But I’m not asking if they took Medi-Cal. I want to do cash payment. I am not going to involve Medi Cal.
Is there a legal reason for this? I’m getting frustrated and half-tempted to just fib and leave out that I am on Medi-Cal. But I don’t want to get in legal trouble either.
