Can I ask my employer to send part of my paycheck to my HSA if I have health insurance through Covered California?

I just started a new job, and looking at their healthcare plans, they are more expensive than what I’d pay through Covered California and they do not allow me to continue to contribute to my HSA that I started on an HDHP with a previous employer. I would like to continue to contribute to my HSA, but from my understanding it seems that it’s beneficial and easier to have your employer withhold a set amount from each paycheck, instead of me contributing to it with post-tax money and dealing with that on my taxes. I have found a Covered California plan that I like and would still allow me to contribute to my HSA.

Am I able to ask my new employer (who offers other healthcare plans that I’ll be denying) to have funds sent to my HSA? Or are they not able to do that since they offer other healthcare plans? Thanks for your help!
