I’ve always had employer-sponsored health insurance, but I’m going fully freelance in 2021 for the time being until. Short-term health insurance isn’t great (and I’m in CA so I think you can’t do it???) and COBRA is expensive. Is it possible to sign up for ACA health insurance for 2021, and if I decide to jump back into a full-time job, can I just stop the monthly premium payment to stop that insurance to get on my new employers’ insurance? Or do I have to commit to the whole year? I just don’t know if it’ll be three months or a year so I would rather not have to pay for an additional plan if my employer provides it for free. Want to sort it out before 12/15!
