Changing Health insurance during surgery?

Hello, I’m moving to a new company in a couple of months and my health insurance will be changing. I also need a small outpatient surgery sometime soon – there’s no urgency, but sooner rather than later would be good. I’m hesitant to get started on the process, though, knowing that my insurance will be changing… there aren’t any practices that are covered by both insurance policies. Has anyone been in a position like this before? Do I talk to my insurance company, or to the surgeon, or someone else to figure this out? Am I better off just waiting until the new coverage kicks in? Thank you so much, any information helps!!
