My husband’s plan year runs from July to June. I carry my own insurance that runs January to December. My infant daughter is on my insurance plan. Due to her health complications, I have put in my two-week notice at work. I am eligible for COBRA which also follows the same open enrollment and plan year as my work’s insurance. We are interested in COBRA as I have already met my out of pocket max due to having a baby. I’m wondering, if I enroll in COBRA until the end of December, would my daughter and I be able to join my husband’s insurance effective 1/1/22 even though it’s not their open enrollment period?
