This is a general question regarding my job. I’m a non-provider, non-medical professional, no NPI. I do provide a service in several surgeons’ offices for patients who have had mastectomies. I’ve been doing this for over a decade and I’ve been under the impression that insurance won’t cover it because I’m not a provider. It’s in line with nipple reconstruction. Is there a process or a certain department I can speak to at any of the major insurance providers that could answer specific questions I have to maybe begin the process of getting this procedure covered?
I’d love to make this affordable for those I’m unable to donate my services to.
