Trans man looking for top surgery and reducing the cost. So I work for one company (Company A) that allows health insurance for working ~18 hours a week. I was working there full time, and so I kept my health insurance when they did the audit to maintain coverage the first week of the year. That week, I also started a new job that I took on full time (Company B) and I have dropped down to 12-16 hours a week at company A.
I got benefits day one at company B, and still have benefits for company A. My first question is: if I submit the claim or information about my new job to Company A, will they take away my insurance? I am making enough to pay for it. My manager is aware, although I don’t want to get her in any trouble. I would still have Company B insurance. I’m not sure which plan is objectively better, although I can easily find it if it would help determine which I could use for primary. Please let me know if any extra information helps!
