I have health insurance through my employer for myself and my son, it is too expensive to add my husband on. My husband went to the Dr and told them he was uninsured and they called us back later to tell us he is on my insurance plan and asked to bill it. I added him to my vision plan at the beginning of the year, but not medical. I looked back at my elections and I did not elect medical coverage for him nor have I paid for it for him. According to my insurance company, he is covered. Either my insurer or employer made a mistake when re-enrolling us. Open enrollment isn’t until the end of the year. Does he get free coverage for a year? I didn’t elect it so I should not be liable to pay any premiums. Has this happened to anyone? Help!
