Employer Ganges Benefits

ETA: Employer CHANGED Benefits.

Hi all, This is the first time I’ve had health insurance, it’s through my employer. For the 19-20 plan year, I was under a plan in which I paid a $10 copay for most things (specifically speaking towards PCP & behavioral health as those are most used for me) thru CareFirst. For the 20-21 plan year, they have changed and I am now on a high deductible plan.

I understand that I have to pay the deductible first, however, I’m not understanding why I am still being charged a $10 copay for seeing my doctor, when upon speaking with the new company (Cigna), they told me my copay would be around $60-$80 until I met my $7k deductible. Everything to my knowledge has been updated through the doctor, and the claim has been filed with the new company. I guess my question here is, is there anything I need to be doing with the previous insurance company? Like do I need to cancel it or speak with anyone? I figured once my employer switched that was it, I don’t need to do anything with CareFirst and just focus on the new company. It even says my plan ended on Nov 30, 2020. I’m also a little confused as to why I can see my therapist, and I was still charged that $10 copay and not $60/$80. They billed Cigna $180, but my responsibility is $0.00, which is confusing as I have a high deductible that needs to be met.

Thanks for reading, I hope this makes sense to someone. I’m having lots of trouble reaching the companies for information.
