Health insurance broker advised me to put my spouse on a subsidized marketplace plan while she is eligible to get coverage through my job.

I was seeking advice from a local health insurance broker about what to do about getting affordable health insurance for me and my spouse because my company takes out a whopping $700 a month from my check for health insurance. He advised me to put myself on the company plan because the company pays a big portion for myself and then put my spouse on a subsidized marketplace plan. I asked him what about the question that says “do you qualify for coverage from an employer (like your spouse)?” he said put NO for my spouse so she can get the tax credits to lower the cost of the plan.

I don’t need advice about what to do about my coverage because I have another thread going for that, I would just like thoughts about this health insurance broker’s advice.
