I have health insurance thru my employer who is the state. I went to doctor over CoviD. The billing people at the doctors (not my regular doctor as they were out for day)office told me I am required to give them my HSA card. I don’t have a HSA card. I didn’t sign up. Woman attempted to tell me my insurance was new and I didn’t know how it worked. That after my insurance was billed and they didn’t pay they would bill the state for the remainder. Never in all my years as a state employee has any one told me I had to give any them my/a HSA card. Or that the state would pay what my insurance did not.
Has anyone ever come across anything similar? Or did I just get someone who knows nothing about billing insurance?
