I’m on a high-deductible plan and want to continue on a medication for acne (spironolactone) that I’ve been taking at a low-dose for several years now. I moved to a new state so I need a new doc to prescribe it to me. I know preventive care/regular ol’ annual physicals are covered without me paying toward the deductible so I want to schedule a wellness check-up to get set up with a new provider here. I would also like to ask them to prescribe me spironolactone but I don’t want the appointment to become an acne consultation because then it would be more than preventive and I’d have to pay.
So my question is: is there a way to ask them to refill my Rx and still have the appt be “preventive” only?
