I’m under 26, have I screwed myself?

Let me preface this with “yes, I’m a huge dummy”.

I’m 22 and on my dads health insurance. I recently took up a new job, and at the time I believed that I was required to choose a company health plan and chose the lowest tier option so that I would have the least amount of money spent on it, and remain on my dads health plan.

The job is temporary through a staffing agency and will be ending this month. I do not plan to stay with the agency.

Now, people have questioned me on why I did that, and have been fear mongering me that I will no longer be allowed on my dads insurance.

Is this a thing that will happen? Have I been removed from my dads health coverage because of this? Will I have no insurance when my job is over?

Thanks for any answers, and I know, this was probably a huge mistake.
