Individual PPO for Utah

Hi all- I’m in a really weird position. I currently have good insurance in Utah, but it only covers me in the state. I have a pre existing auto immune disease.

Recently I’ve had horrible chest pain, SOB, palpitations and more. Ive done almost every cardiac test possible, but they all look fine. Its really messing up my life so I’ve been digging deeper.

I have something called a Myocardial Bridge, typically seen as benign but Stanford is learning it can actually cause some really bad problems for some. Surgery is the only real fix. I sent my records to Stanford and they reviewed them and said they think its possible that it can be causing my symptoms, but they need to do more tests to confirm.

My insurance agent said there is 0 PPO plans on the market place. I obviously need a PPO plan to travel to California. Talking to another agent, she offered me a PPO plan for like $500 a month. But there is a 12 month wait for any Surgery if it’s for something pre existing. My question is, is the Myocardial bridge considered pre existing? I do have it but it usually isn’t a problem, and we don’t known if that is whats causing my problem!

I also don’t know where to look for a good PPO plan. Is there a certain agent I can call who is really good in that? I don’t qualify for insurance through work as I’ve not worked enough hours last year. I am so lost and desperate, if anyone can help me I would be so thankful.
