Is an appeal worth trying for me?

Hi everyone! I made a stupid mistake and assumed that because my health insurance card says “health partners,” health partners clinics in my area would be considered tier 1 under my policy. Turns out, nope.

I had a 15 minute e-clinic visit with a doctor to renew my anti-depressant. Apparently my anti-depressants are not “preventative medicine” and they are unwilling to cover the cost of the visit because I wasn’t at a tier 1 clinic ($160 for 15 minutes after my insurance contributed around $25).

It’s annoying, but essentially because I have a specific brand of health partners insurance, they won’t work with many health partners clinics.

I’m able to pay the bill (sort of). My quality of life will have to change for the next month because of it, but whatever. I really don’t WANT to pay it. Is an appeal attempt worth it?

TL:DR my insurance won’t cover a 15 minute e-visit I had to get my anti-depressant Rx refilled because they won’t consider it preventative medicine and I went to a tier 2 clinic, even though I have health partners insurance and it was a health partners clinic.
