Is what I am about to do even legal? Do I need a lawyer to get my medical problem corrected? Help!!

In late February 2020, I only had one month on the job and my boss and I did not get along. I feared being fired at any second. So the the worst happened….One day the janitor decided to mop the floor and did not put a, “Caution Wet Floor” sign up. So anyway, I did not know that the floor was wet and fell down very hard on the floor and slammed my knee onto the floor. I could have easily declared Workman’s Comp on this issue, but I thought that my boss would think I was a two-bit conman that was trying to get free money out of this, so I didn’t do it. I thought that the company would find a way to get rid of me for doing this. I have since, proven myself to my boss, kept the job, and my employer really likes me now

Now let’s roll the clock forward to August. In August my knee was still feeling weird and had not recovered. So I got an MRI out of pocket and the MRI concluded that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my knee and I definitely did not need surgery. I also went and saw a physical therapist and they said there was nothing wrong my knee as well. So on paper, there is nothing wrong with my knee but it’s still sore even to this day.

So I got so sick and tired of this issue that I went all the way down to Florida to visit my cousin who is a physical therapist in Florida. He told me that the problem may recover in time on it’s own, but I would probably need more physical therapy because I have what’s called, “Subjective Instability”.

So here’s my problem. I get health insurance insurance through my job in January and I don’t know how to approach this. What I’m thinking about doing is going to the doctor and telling them that I have a “new knee injury” and it just feels strange. I am afraid to tell the doctor the truth because I fear that the insurance company will not want to pay for treatment on my injury because it happened on the job and they’ll want my workplace to pay for it and it will turn into a huge legal battle. I figure that because I have an MRI saying that there was nothing wrong with me and a physical therapist saying the same that they could never prove that I don’t have a new knee injury. I don’t know what to do. Please help?
