I am moving from Illinois to California for graduate school, and currently have Illinois Medicaid and SNAP benefits. I am am filing taxes as an independent, and my FAFSA EFC is $0. Basically, how do I get the California version of Medicaid and Snap? Is there a way I can transfer my information from Illinois to California? I’m so lost. My grad school doesn’t have a student health insurance plan since it’s a super small school, and I have a number of prescription medications that I’m going to need covered once I get to CA.
