Moving out of state, quitting job and waiting to get a new one. What to do in between for insurance?

My fiancé got a job in NJ. We will be moving there end of December and I am going to be quitting my job in OK by end of November. I don’t plan to start looking for a new job in NJ until possibly January.

I know COBRA exists for the gap, but I am concerned with the enrollment period for my current job being now… What happens when I quit? Would I be eligible to keep the 2021 insurance plan I picked out here? My plan if i need to pay 100% of it would be about $450 a month on COBRA but it is also an Oklahoma insurance plan which is essentially useless in NJ. So 450 for crap coverage.

Also, I will have no income for at least the next 3 months most likely. But when I look on the NJ website, it asks for an estimated 2021 income and I have no way of knowing what it will be. I very well could get a job in January. I don’t want to lie about my income because I’ve read I could face penalties but also if I put $0 income… my premium goes up $400 a month compared to $160.

I don’t think I’d qualify for Medicaid because I have a stock market account I accrue money from. Ugh I am so stressed out. I do not understand any of this.

I am a healthy individual with no conditions but I definitely want insurance in case of a freak accident and it is a penalty in NJ if you don’t have insurance. Help.
