OptumRx won’t send me my meds – it’s been months. What can I do?

Thankfully, not having these prescriptions is not a life-threatening situation for me, but it’s definitely worsened my quality of life not to have them.

I am required to use OptumRx with my insurance (Cigna), and I have been trying to get a refill on two different daily prescription that I am supposed to get a refill for every three months. I haven’t been able to get anything from OptumRx since last August. Every time I contact them, there is a different issue — my credit card information isn’t up to date (it is,) they are using an outdated address (I’ve called them several times to confirm my current address,) it has been too soon since my last refill (again, it’s a three month refill that I last received in August.)

I went to my doctor in-person in November to ask about one of my prescriptions, since OptumRx’s latest excuse was that they “can’t contact” my provider, despite having her correct contact information in the order that they are saying they can’t fulfill. She said no one from OptumRx reached out to her, and offered to send a refill prescription to OptumRx right then and there. Within 24 hours, I got a confirmation from OptumRx that they had received that request. Then, a week later, I get a call that it has “been too soon” since my last refill (I am already out of medication at this point.) When I try to speak to a rep, they say my doctor hasn’t contacted them since 2020 – then how did they receive the request???

I am at the end of my rope. I just want my prescription. What can I do?!?!
