Pharmacy said no copay, I see a $700 bill on my insurance portal

Hey there, I hope this is the right place to ask this question:

Basically the title. I had a topical cream prescribed by my dermatologist, and the pharmacy where I picked the cream up told me there was no copay for it. Now I look into their portal and my insurance says that was a $1000 cream (!!!), and they will cover like $300 of it.

How does one go about disputing something like this? Can I return the cream? is my fight with the insurance or with the pharmacy?

If it helps insurance is Anthem through my employer, and the cream is for my eczema, and I never in my wildest dreams imagined that treating any non-life-threatening thing could cost something close to this!! Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
