I’m leaving my job soon and will lose my health insurance. I will be applying for coverage through the marketplace for myself and my adult son who is a college student living at home.
Should I get a professional to help with the application and choosing a plan or is it something I can do on my own? I have narrowed the plans down to a few that our Dr’s are in-network but I still don’t know enough to make a choice.
Do I fill out the application and then wait to pick a plan after we are accepted?
How can I best avoid a lapse in coverage? I would like to leave my job at the end of Jan but I can wait until the end of Feb if it will mean no lapse in coverage.
Thanks in advance!
