(Ranting) The medical center billed my previous insurer, instead of my current one, for my COVID-19 test.

Really annoyed I didn’t hold onto that damn receipt when I scheduled the appointment, because I know I gave them the updated insurance information, but I have no way of proving it now.

When I received my bill I saw the old insurance provider listed(??) and of course they contributed $0.00 towards my expenses, as providers I’m not covered by tend to do.

So I thought, fine, whatever, I have a Discovery Benefits account through my employer, I’ll pay the bill and then file a claim for reimbursement.

I should have seen this coming I suppose, but DB denied my claim and insisted I upload an EOB from my (not) provider.

Just to humor myself further, the med center has an online portal where my insurance info is kept. Lo and behold, my submission of change of insurance providers in the dashboard, which I submitted several months prior, was “pending.”

At this point I’m not looking for advice, I’m just venting. Whatever, I already paid the damn bill, and I don’t feel like trying to sort this out after the fact.
