I’ve been on an Aetna health insurance plan through my dad’s employer for most of my life. As he is recently retired, he’s changing plans, and our current plan ends March 31st, 2021. I leave for Army basic training on April 4th, and my coverage through the military will start April 5th. Unfortunately, my dad’s new plan won’t cover children 23 and over. As far as I know, the sale of temporary health insurance is banned in NY, so I’m having trouble figuring out how to get coverage for 4/1 to 4/5. How can I remain insured until I leave for the Army?
