Testicular sonogram at PCP

Hello,

Recently got the boot from parents insurance plan and hopped on the plan of my employer (UHC – oxford). I’ve found medical insurance to be pretty confusing.

I have an appointment for an ultrasound tomorrow at my PCP office via a third party radiologist I presume they are affiliated with for 2 days/week. After attempting to research on my own, I’m seeing the price for this procedure can be 250-2k even for the insured???

Can anyone explain to me their cost experience? That doesn’t seem right, seems like a common procedure I doubt people would shell out so much for. My insurance is pretty good I would say. Is this procedure going to be covered as just a specialist co-pay?

Thank you for any insight.
