So I have a chronic health condition that makes it difficult for me to work, but not impossible (not bad enough to qualify me for disability, but I’m barely hanging on). I can’t take on the debt for the surgery I need. I’m considering quitting my job so I qualify for Medi-Cal. My question is: Will the Medi-Cal people ask me why I’m not working? If I tell them I quit my job so I can get the surgery without going into massive debt, does that disqualify me for Medi-Cal? Or will they just look at my income?
Thanks in advance for your answers!
