I have an oscar health insurance catastrophic plan. As someone in my twenties with 0 health history, been healthy, and a decent income stream I found that it was fair because I was prepared to pay the out of pocket max in case of any emergencies.
I had my first ER visit to the hospital for acute appendicitis this christmas, and got this (from my insurance company)
I am confused as to why I only have to pay 1600, shouldn’t I be required to pay up to the 8700 out of pocket max? Dont get me wrong im glad this is what it is, but I dont understand why with 0 co insurance, insurance is helping me?
FWIW I did go to an in net work hospital
